We will be running two cattle musters in 2026! Application process will open in May 2025. Pre-booking application and phone call required.

Summer Cattle Muster

Calf Marking - The cows and calves will be spread across the station in herds. Our goal is to muster each of those herds to the cattle yards. Once they are at the yards, we will count and mark the calves before returning them to the paddock.

Dates - 12/1/2026 to 16/1/2026 - 5 DAYS!

Riders Requirements - Intermediate to Experienced Riders. Up to 5 hours in the saddle. Weight limit 95kgs MAX!

Shorter days than our autumn muster, perfect for medium fitness/riding ability. Riders still must be able to walk, trot, canter and mount without assistance.

PRICE - $4250 per rider. $1000 non refundable deposit per rider to secure your spot.

Autumn Cattle Muster

Calf Weaning and Sale -  We spend several days mustering cattle from all over the station to home. The Calves are then weaned, sorted and sent to the sale yards. The following day, we will all head to sale yards to watch them being sold, followed by a party at the lake or pub!

Dates - 9/4/2026 to 16/4/2026 - 7 DAYS!

Riders Requirements - Intermediate to Experienced Riders. Up to 7 hours in the saddle. Fitness level and rider ability requirements are higher than the summer muster!! Weight limit 95kg MAX!

PRICE - $6000 per rider. $1000 non refundable deposit per rider to secure your spot.

Prices for both musters includes meals, accommodation, airpots transfer, horse, saddle and helmets. Price does not include airfares or travel/health insurance.

A Note to Applicants

YOUR LEVEL OF FITNESS AND RIDING ABILITY will dictate what you will be able to participate in while the muster.

Example - Riders that are super fit, experienced and balanced horse riders with the ability to walk down super steep hill country while leading your horse, may be able to join the shepherds up on the high country getting cattle from the tops.

Riders with lower fitness and horse riding ability will most likely spend most of the ride pushing up the cattle in the bottom on the gulleys. This involves a lot less on foot physical ability but still has lots of action with the majority of the cattle.

Summer Cattle Muster is better suited to medium levels of physical fitness and ability. The terrain is typically dryer, weather is warming and riders may not be required to dismount as often as the autumn muster.

Autumn Cattle Muster is better suited to good levels of physical fitness. The days in the saddle are longer, the weather is cooler and it is more likely to be wet ground.

CATTLE MUSTER TIPS
- Riding with us is an adventure, experience and you will be involved in the daily work on the trip. No worries, we will show you what to do and will explain to you as much as we can.
- If you are a rider you may help us in the mornings/evenings getting the horses ready. That means leading and keeping them in order when needed.
- Lauren and the Horse Crew are very particular about how the horses are looked after. Please do not be offended if your horses is re-washed/groomed/tack adjusted after you have helped. The wellbeing of the horses is a top prioty for us, they work hard and deserve the best.
- There are plenty of other jobs to do, like helping in the kitchen, doing dishes and cleaning the huts in the morning before we leave.
- We would like to make clear that you MUST be able to walk downhill. We ride up hill but we lead the horses downhill. You must be able to walk downhill, on running shingle and lead your horse at the same time. The ground may be slippery, rocky, loose shingle, steep hard rock! Good hips, knees and ankles are necessary.

If you are concerned about your level of fitness, please give us a call and we can discuss further on the phone.
