Edith Loop - 28.5 km
Red Track
The Edith Loop is a perfect middle distance loop that allows you to explore the Station from one side to the other, unlike any of our other trails. The trail takes you from the main homestead, up the airstrip through a long gulley between Tripp’s Peak and Mount Edith. It then cuts up an old vehicle track through lots of snow tussocks on to the top of Mount Edith. The trail follows the ridge, drops down in native scrubby country then loops into open tussock areas where it then follows the Orari river upstream back to the main homestead. This track is relatively easy going across rolling tracks with one steep straight up climb (700m to 1000m), all on well marked vehicle tracks.
Distance from Basin Creek Hut - 28km loop
